One cannot depend on anybody for anything. When one faces the fact that oneself alone is responsible for the world one creates through thought, feeling, and action, one may either slip into blame and despair—leading to cynicism and bitterness—or, in meeting the fact as it is, become free from self-pity. Authentic transformation arises only from within, and when the mind is free of anxiety, fear, obedience, jealousy, envy, brutality, violence, competitiveness, and greed.
